15 ANIMAL RESCUE GROUPS PRESENT
SOUTHERN COLORADO ANIMAL ALLIANCE ADOPTION FAIR

OCTOBER 13, 14

Dreampower Animal Rescue spearheaded an unprecedented alliance between 15 (to date) Southern Colorado animal rescue groups. Together, they will stage a massive fall adoption fair, offering animals of all shapes and sizes, from hamsters to horses.

The fair, at Petco, 3060 N. Powers Blvd., will take place Saturday, October 13 from 11 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, October 14 from noon to 6 pm.

THE PLAYERS

Dreampower Animal Rescue, Best Friends Animal Society of Kanab, Utah, and Saint Animal Rescue are sponsoring the adoption fair. Best Friends, the largest animal rescue group in the country, specializes in bringing rescue groups together for the greater good of companion animals.

Other rescue groups in the alliance and at the adoption fair, include: All Breed Rescue, Colorado Pit Bull Rescue (Sunday), Colorado Reptile Rescue (Saturday), Dalmatian Rescue, 9 Lives, Pet Project, Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue, Rocky Mountain Siamese Rescue, Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue, and Scottie Rescue.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

Dreampower Animal Rescue will conduct a microchip clinic on site both days of the fair. Microchipping costs $25 per pet, but if you bring proof that your pet was adopted from Dreampower, you’ll receive a $5 discount.

Food, drinks, children’s activities, dog training demos, fresh catnip for felines will be

available.

Holistic practitioners in fields such as acupuncture, Tellington Touch and Bach Flower Remedies, will be present to answer your questions.

The fair plans to have wildlife on location to educate the public regarding pet ownership.

THE SOUTHERN COLORADO ANIMAL ALLIANCE (SCOAA)

SCOAA was founded with the goal to give animal welfare groups the opportunity to form strategic partnerships that will ultimately benefit animals. The alliance currently is inviting other animal welfare groups to join. Also, it welcomes event sponsorship from area businesses.

If interested in sponsoring a booth at the SCOAA adoption fair, or would like to help sponsor the event, contact Aubrey Eastman at 719-390-7838.
