Pet Admissions

Dreampower has several methods to receive adoptable animals and place them in new homes. This area of our web site will answer some of your questions and let you know what services you can expect from us.

Admissions are by appointment Wednesday through Friday by appointment ONLY.  After reading this page, call 390-7838 to schedule an appointment.

Dreampower accepts pets into our program that meet our definition of "Adoptable".

1. The pet has no terminal illness or disabling injury
2. The pet poses no immediate, obvious threat to humans or other animals.
3. The pet has no aberrant behavioral issue that cannot be corrected given a reasonable amount of care and training.

Dreampower relies on foster care to house pets until adopted. We can not accept more pets than the foster care network can support. Because foster homes are sometimes in short supply, we created a program called "Owner Foster" which allows us to help a greater number of animals. If you have found a stray pet that you can not keep, perhaps you can foster the pet until we can help get it adopted. We have a "Good Samaritan" program which allows you to help us help a greater number of animals. If you are interested, read about Good Samaritans here.

Dreampower offers kitten and puppy placement services in order to encourage owners to spay or neuter their adult pets, while finding good homes for the offspring. If you wish to keep the mother pet, but surrender the litter to Dreampower for placement, read about our litter placement here.

Our commitment is for the life of the pet; Dreampower will accept every animal back into the adoption system regardless of the circumstances. If you have adopted a pet from Dreampower, in the unlikely event that must return it to us, you can learn about our process for accepting pet returns here.
